Production Planning assists organisations in managing all their production tasks. The Gantt View displays the job in detail and includes a visual representation of the job sequence.
This tutorial explains how the Gantt View works and how to use the related functions.
Navigation: Main Menu > Production > Production Planning > Menu (button) > Gantt.
Table of Contents
ℹ️ The Gantt View lists all the tasks that must be performed for a particular stage and displays a visual representation of their durations. It requires both a Stage and Job to be selected.
Navigate to Production Planning > Menu (button) > Gantt.
The top row, a Status Bar displays the following information (only displayed when a Job is selected):
Status: The status of the job.
Status Note: Any status note.
Req Date: The date and time by which the customer requires the job.
Due Date: The date and time by which Production is scheduled to complete the job.
The next section is a Header with information about the Customer, Rep, source transaction and the job's Reference.
Below the header, the columns on the left list all the Stages that the job must go through, in order, along with their Durations, Start and Finish Dates.
Below the header, the graph on the right displays a visual representation of when the task is scheduled. You can right-click a task on the left and select Scroll to Task on the context menu to view the task on the graph. The dates displayed depend on the selection next to Time Scale:
Hours: One week will be shown, regardless of the duration of the job, with the tasks shown for every hour.
Quarter Days: A quarter (e.g. Jan-Mar, Apr-June) will be shown with the tasks shown in 6-hour blocks.
Days: An unlimited number of days will be shown with tasks shown per day.
ℹ️ When a job has finished ahead of schedule, this process will change the start date of the next job in the queue so that it is immediately started and adjust all the start and end dates in that Stage to reflect this change.
Navigate to the Gantt View.
Click Actions (button) > Set Start / Finish from Now.
Confirm the change on the popup.
ℹ️ When there is a stall in production, this action will recalculate all the dates based on the Due Dates, working backwards, to set the last dates on which the jobs can be started to still meet the Due Date deadline.
Navigate to the Gantt View.
Click Actions (button) > Set Start / Finish from Due Date.
Confirm the change on the popup.
Navigate to the Gantt View.
Check the checkboxes next to New or Complete on the top row.
Click View (button).
