Menus

Overview 

The Main Menu and the Tile Menu in BOS Enterprise are customisable in the Menus setup module, including the System and Setup modules. 

The Menu item in the Status Bar is fixed and can be used to test different screen sizes and check the application's About screen. It also has links to open the DB Monitor and the System Messages.

Access to the Menus setup module is controlled by the User Settings > Setups > Menu Manager > Access Allowed.

Main Menu

The Main Menu should contain all the menu items used in the application and be displayed at the top of the application window.

The fixed Menu Items are on the right of the Main Menu and include:

Tile Menu

The Tile Menu should only display the most frequently used Menu Items. By default, the Tile Menu Groups are displayed in two columns. Most screen resolutions will display four rows, so ideally you won't add more than eight regular-size menu items to a Tile Group.

You can set the colour of Tiles at a Group level (Default = Navy Blue). 

The Tile Menu has a fixed colour (navy) and displays live Notes for Transactions and certain Fixed Modules. See the example below.

Menu Groups

The Menu Groups are used to group similar Menu Items and are displayed on the Main Menu as well as on the Tile Menu.
