Verbos usuales para reportar - Página 3
Ciertos verbos son muy frecuentes a la hora de reportar: say, tell, ask, admit, agree, answer, invite, complain. He -asked- where you had put his book.
to propose (propóus) - proponer
Mark: "Sir, I think we should have a meeting this afternoon"
Mark: "Señor, creo que deberíamos tener una reunión esta tarde"
He proposed having a meeting that afternoon
Él propuso tener una reunión esa tarde
to refuse (rifiúus) - rehusarse
Jim: "I won't do this job any longer"
Jim: "No seguiré haciendo este trabajo"
He refused to continue working
Él se rehusó a continuar trabajando
to congratulate (kongrátchiuleit) - felicitar
Sam: "Congratulations, Jack! Your performance was excellent!"
Sam: "Felicitaciones, Jack! ¡Tu actuación fue excelente!
He congratulated Jack on giving a good performance at the theater
Él felicitó a Jack por haber dado una buena actuación en el teatro
to greet (gríit) - saludar
Bill: "Hi, everybody!"
Bill: "¡Hola a todos!"
Bill greeted everybody as he entered the room

to introduce (introdiús) - presentar
Lou: "This is my mother. Her name is Nancy"
Lou: "Ella es mi madre. Su nombre es Nancy"
He introduced me to his mother

to warn (uórn)- advertir
Bill: "Don't drink so much or you'll get drunk!"
Bill: "¡No bebas tanto que te vas a emborrachar!"
Bill warned Jack not to drink too much

to insist (insíst) - insistir
Kate: "You take me there! Come on! I really want to go there!"
Kate: "¡Me tiene que llevar hasta ahí! ¡Vamos! ¡De verdad quiero ir ahí!"
She insisted that she wanted to go

to insult (insált) - insultar
Karen: "You... damned fat cow! You ate all my cookies!"
Karen: "¡Maldita gorda desgraciada! ¡Te comiste todas mis galletitas!"
She insulted her friend calling her a 'fat cow'
