Verbos usuales para reportar - Página 1

Ciertos verbos son muy frecuentes a la hora de reportar: say, tell, ask, admit, agree, answer, invite, complain. He -asked- where you had put his book.

to tell (tél) - decir, contar

Beth: "John isn't here right now"
- Beth: "John no está aquí en este momento"
She told me that John wasn't there then.
- Ella me dijo que John no estaba allí en ese momento.

to say (séi) - decir

Jack: "Mum came to see you today"
- Jack: "Mamá vino a verte hoy"
He said that mum had come to see me that day
- Él dijo que mamá había venido a verme ese día

to ask (ásk) - pedir, preguntar

Bob: "Please, give this letter to Penny"
- Bob: "Por favor, dale esta carta a Penny"
He asked me to give the letter to Penny
- Él me pidió que le diera la carta a Penny

to admit (admít) - admitir

Tommy: "OK, OK. Yeah. I broke that window"
- Tommy: "Está bien, está bien. Sí. Yo rompí esa ventana"
He admitted that he had broken the window
- Él admitió que había roto la ventana

to agree (agríi) - estar de acuerdo

Ken: "Yeah, of course, I will give you the money"
- Ken: "Sí, por supuesto, yo te prestaré el dinero"
He agreed to loan me the money
- Él estuvo de acuerdo en prestarme el dinero

to answer (ánser) - responder

Carol: "Oh, not now. I am too busy at this moment"
- Carol: "Ay, ahora no. Estoy demasiado ocupada en este momento"
She answered that she was too busy at that moment
- Ella respondió que estaba demasiado ocupada en ese momento

to invite (inváit) - invitar

Al: "Hey guys! Don't you want to go to the beach with me?"
- Al: "¡Oigan amigos! ¿No quieren ir a la playa conmigo?"
He invited us to go to the beach with him
- Él nos invitó a que fuéramos a la playa con él

to complain (kompléin) - quejarse

Dan: "Oh, no. I have this terrible toothache again!"
- Dan: "Ay , no. ¡Otra vez tengo este dolor de muela!
He complained of a toothache
- Él se quejó de un dolor de muela
