Thanks to HSMA, the district will continue to provide all students with one breakfast and one lunch daily at no cost through the 2025-26 school year, regardless of income eligibility. Though meals are free for all Jeffco students, families are still encouraged to visit SchoolCafé and complete a Student Benefits Application.
While this application does not determine your student’s access to meals under the HSMA program, it may help their school secure additional state or federal funding. Additionally, your student(s) may be eligible for other benefits, such as school-related fees or testing fees, based on information provided on the application.

The Jeffco Board typically meets twice a month, September - June. The first meeting of the month is called a study session and includes presentations and discussions designed to provide background and context for items that this Board will potentially vote on during the Board’s second meeting of the month, its regular business meeting. Oftentimes, items on the study session agenda appear on the Board’s consent agenda for consideration during the regular meeting.

Date: September 3 | Time: 4:30 p.m. | Location: Jefferson County Public Schools, 1829 Denver West Dr., Golden, CO 80401 (livestream, no public comment in this session)

Now that the 2025-26 school year is officially underway, Colorado State Patrol is reminding the Jeffco community about a new law drivers need to know. Under the new law, drivers must stop for a school bus with flashing red lights, even if you’re in the oncoming lane, unless there’s a physical barrier between you and the bus. Previously, if you were traveling in an opposing direction of the school bus you only needed a painted line or a paint median, etc. Now, there needs to be either a raised or depressed median or a physical barrier — something that’s going to separate you and your vehicle from that school bus.
