It's almost time to start planning for the next school year - can you believe it? Round one of enrollment for the 2022-23 school year opens on December 13 in EnrollJeffco. Please view this flyer for more details (English | Spanish) and keep an eye out for more information coming soon!

• Round 1 for the 2022-23 school year is Dec. 13, 2021 - Jan. 14, 2022.

• Round 2 for the 2022-23 school year opens Jan. 

• Choice applications offers will go out in late January

Happening Now

• PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT, Monday, December 6th @ 6:30 We will give an overview of all that makes Leawood special, share the process and timeline for registering, and answering any questions you have. This night is intended for incoming interested Preschool and Kindergarten parents, but anyone else interested in learning more about Leawood is welcome. 

• SCHOOL TOURS: We will be holding tours on December 8, 9, & 10th. We are offering slots with 6 people at a time. Please sign up for a time that is convenient for you on this signup genius:  Leawood Dec 2021 School Tours 

• FULL DAY: Leawood will have limited space in our Full Day Preschool so be sure to apply early. All Jeffco Kindergarten programs are full day.

• Plan now... December 13th will be right around the corner!

NEW FAMILIES

There are three steps that will need to be completed when enrolling your student to Leawood Elementary. 

1. Complete the EnrollJeffco process.

2. If Leawood is your home school, upload your documentation in OLR(On Line Registration) we will also accept these documents if scanned and emailed to us at Leah.Lefevre@jeffco.k12.co.us

3. If you have choice enrolled to Leawood, wait to see if you are made an offer before bringing in your documentation.  Offers will be made at the end of January.

CURRENT Jeffco K-12 Students

1. The first step to this process is EnrollJeffco. All returning students will use EnrollJeffco for the upcoming school year to indicate where they will be attending school in August. 

2. 5th grade families need to complete this process as well to indicate which middle school you will be attending. If Leawood was NOT your home school, you will need to CHOICE enroll at Ken Caryl. 

3. The next step to this process is OLR (On Line Registration). You will still need to register your student(s) through OLR, making sure your contact information is updated, pay fees, and sign off on agreements (Code of Conduct, Media Releases, and other OPT out agreements with your digital signature).

Attendance

If your child is going to be late or absent, please call the attendance line at 303-982-7813. You will also need to give a reason as to why your student is going to be out or late. If no reason is given, your student will be marked unexcused. As much as we would love to, we cannot excuse an absence for family fun time, or birthdays.

Heads up! Jeffco Connect - the system you currently use to update your contact information, access student fee payment, and meal payment links and obtain some assessment information - is going away on December 1. To reduce the number of platforms our families are required to navigate, you will now only use these two systems: EnrollJeffco for the enrollment process and Infinite Campus for registration, contact updating, and important links. You don’t need to do anything right now - we just want to make you aware that this change is coming in a few weeks. More information will be provided after the Thanksgiving break.

From the Health Clinic

If your child has been sick 3 days in a row, please have them tested for Covid before returning to school. Please email results to luana.perry@jeffco.k12.co.us

Children should stay home if they have 1 or more of the following symptoms

• Sore throat 

• Congestion, head or lung

• Cough   

• Vomiting

• Runny Nose

• Stomach Ache, queasy

• Chills

• Headache

• Fever                                                        

When you child is being sent home from the Health Room, please pick them up within 15 minutes of being called.  If you are unable to pick them up in 15 minutes, you need to find another person who can.  Please recruit friends, neighbors and family for support.

When a child is sick, we need to limit exposure to staff.
