FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Leawood Families,

I am thrilled to share with you the results from our recent Family-School Relationships Survey from our 3rd-5th graders and their families. As your principal, I am incredibly proud of the positive feedback we have received, which is a testament to the strong partnership between our school and our families.

One of the key highlights from the student data is the outstanding feedback regarding Teacher and Student Relationships and Safety. It warms my heart to report that an impressive 91% of students expressed excitement at the prospect of having their teacher again. This reflects the deep connections and nurturing environment our teachers have cultivated in the classroom.

Equally exciting are the results from our families, which showed an overall 16% growth from the previous year! This significant improvement demonstrates our collective efforts in enhancing family engagement and strengthening the bonds between home and school.

I am particularly proud of the progress we have made in the areas of support and challenge. At the beginning of the year, I shared with you our goals which were to focus on providing both support and challenge to our students in order to help them grow both academically and social-emotionally. I am thrilled to announce that we have seen a 16% increase in support for students and a 19% increase in how we challenge our students. These results are nothing short of phenomenal and speak volumes about the staff here at Leawood and our dedication to student growth and success.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education journey. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students, and I am excited to continue our journey of growth and excellence.

When the design for the "Fierce Lion" was being worked on its main purpose was to be displayed just for the gym floor. However, many people have shared how much they like the new image. With that said, it would be wonderful if people could provide their opinion on what logo they think would be best as our primary school logo. We are asking for feedback from all stakeholders of the school including; staff, students, and families. Please place your vote by selecting the logo, only 1 vote per person. Voting will close on Wednesday, May 8th. Click on this (LINK)
