Receiving Emails from the School

We want to make sure you are receiving communication from the teachers and the school. We send out weekly e-blasts, classroom newsletters, and our monthly Leawood Lion’s Roar newsletter. In order to make sure you are receiving information about our upcoming events and important dates, please make sure we have the correct information in Jeffco Connect. We have found that some of our parents have an email in the system, but the boxes next to the email have not been checked. Please take a moment to log into your Jeffco Connect account to verify this. You will click on the “Contacts” tab. You will then click on the EDIT button next to your name. Make sure your email is correct, and also make sure the small boxes are checked next to your email.  If you haven’t yet added two additional emergency contacts, please do this as well. 

Leawood has its own APP

We have our own APP!  You can download it for free.  Just search “Leawood Elementary” in the App Store or Google Play. This is just another way for you to receive communication from Leawood.

From the Health Room:

Welcome Back! Hope all of you had a fantastic summer.

There are new documents regarding administering medicine to students. A written Medication Permission Form must be signed and submitted by the parent/guardian AND signed by a health care provider for all prescription, nonprescription, and herbal medication to be administered or self-administered at school. Families shall be responsible for providing all medication to be administered to the student. These new medical forms are located on our website under the Family Resources link (Documents), as well as on our parent information rack. Please remember if your child has a fever of 100 or more they will be sent home from the Health room. Your child has to be fever free without medication for 24 hrs. Same rule applies if your child has the stomach bug. 

The Health room is in need of girl/boy clothing, especially new underwear, and pants ranging in sizes XXS-M.

A reminder about fees

• Please review your student's fees, some field trips have been added. 

• Kindergaten tuition is due September 1st.

• Sixth grade parents, just a friendly reminder that Outdoor Lab is earlier this year and tuition is due October 19th. If you wish to make partial payments, please contact Mrs. Russell at 303-982-7860 x 5
