For the month of December, the students in the Dragonfly classroom will:
Develop phonological awareness is the building blocks for understanding language
Understand simple patterns
Compare Numbers
Recognize living things grow in predictable patterns
Encourage children to appreciate individual differences by providing diverse materials

For the month of December, the students in the Ladybug Classroom will:
Use words to express ideas, feelings and needs.
Use increasingly varied vocabulary
Identify whether number of objects in a set are more than or less than the number in another set (1-5).
Learn how to show that each successive number name is one more item in a set.
Observe characteristics of zoo animals.
Identify choices that people can make.
Choose between two items to buy.
Continue to identify coins
Reminders/Updates
-If you have not done so already, please bring in a self-addressed (addressed to the child) with a stamp. We have something special planned for our Holiday Party.
- As we are entering the cold and flu season, please keep these preschool and Jeffco policies in mind. If your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea please do not return your child until they are 24 hours free without medication.
-Also, please keep in mind that our doors will close 15 minutes after the start of class. Therefore, Ladybugs AM doors will close at 8:45, Dragonfly will close at 9:15, and Ladybug PM will close at 12:45. If you arrive after the 15 minutes, then please go through the front doors of the school and enter through the school. This is to ensure the safety of all students and staff here at Leawood. This will be the same for pick up times.
-I would also like to remind you of the preschool late policy. If you are late picking up your child, then the first time is ok and a warning. If you are late a second time or beyond, then I will need to add $10 to your account. This is a Jeffco Preschool policy.
