MARCH 2022 From the School & Office
Leawood Elementary School
Enrollment Secretary Leah Lefevre
Financial Secretary Margarita Russell
Health Aide Luana Perry
In the hug and go on the east side of the building in the parking lot, no adult can exit the vehicle and leave the car standing. This is very unsafe as other cars need to maneuver around your car. It helps to encourage your student to begin packing up and getting ready to hop out quickly and safely before you pull up to the crosswalk. Preschool parents MUST park in a designated parking spot in order to walk your student inside. Thank you for your help with this as we want to ensure all students start their day in a positive, safe manner.**
Watch Dog DADS and Marvelous Moms
We LOVE our Watch Dog Dad and Marvelous Moms program! We really appreciate the increased support in the crosswalks, parking lot, and in the halls and classrooms during the school day. Please consider signing up. Please access the signup HERE.

How Sick is too sick to be at school.
If experiencing COVID-like symptoms:
Stay home! Get tested for Covid and/or follow quarantine or isolation guidelines based on result .
Students will be sent home with any illness symptoms. Students may be asked to wear a mask while waiting for their parents to pick them up.
Please self-screen at home prior to the school day; see below.
Symptom Screen:
If any of the following symptoms are present, keep the child at home/stay at home, inform the school school of symptoms, and reach out to a health care provider about COVID-19 testing and next steps of treatment.
❏ Feeling feverish, having chills, or temperature 100.4°F or higher.
❏ New or unexplained persistent cough.
❏ Shortness of breath.
❏ Difficulty breathing.
❏ Loss of taste or smell.
❏ Fatigue.
❏ Muscle aches.
❏ Headache.
❏ Sore throat.
❏ Nausea or vomiting.
❏ Diarrhea.
❏ Runny nose or congestion
When children have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting anytime during the night or day, they need to stay home from school that day and the following day. This is best practice for the health and safety of our staff and students and has always been the procedure. Please do not medicate sick children and send them to school.
