At the November 5th meeting, the following was discussed:
* District Updates: 2 hour delay was a success; Enroll JeffCo will begin in December, need to go in and confirm you are staying, or make a change...you DO NOT need to choice enroll if you are already in attendance at Leawood.; Registration for Preschool and Kindergarten is in DECEMBER this year, new at Leawood is a PRESCHOOL INFORMATION night on December 3rd, KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION night will be December 5th; School tours will be the week of December 9th for new families; NO MORE HALF DAY KINDERGARTEN nest year; JeffCo Build is a website that will let you know more information on the updates coming to Leawood
*Leawood Updates: New staff ~ Annie is kindergarten and Leah in the front office, WELCOME!; Leawood BUDGET is looking good! We are only at 22% of our spending while most schools are at 33%! The school will be looking at purchasing guided reading books for each classroom to accommodate the different levels of reading in each classroom; Family Partnership Survey ~ We have worked hard on the communication piece, and the next step is to work more on letting families know how their children are doing socially. Perhaps longer conferences, conferences focused as a conversation about the child more than data driven, questionnaires sent home before conferences so it can be parent/student led. Also, have more information coming from the social workers
* Communication: Has the communication improved this year? Which forms of communication are being used most? A survey will be sent to families
* Improvement Plan: Action Steps to achieve goals: 3 days of extended planning for teachers for data digs, Professional Development with gifted and talented teachers to help plan differentiation, Another full day data dig in January; We saw great growth last year, so we will continue doing what works, and add more; Met all of our goals last year; THIS YEAR'S GOALS are to increase ELA scores from 58-60% growth, and increase Math scores from 52-55% growth

PTSA funds MANY different areas of our schools functionality. When we have fundraisers, we are raising for the many things we fund each year, as well as our unique chosen item. This year our unique item is the INTERIOR UPLIFT. Our Read A Thon was raising money to go towards the library portion of the Uplift. The Spring Fling will raise money towards the rest of the school uplift.
Other monies PTSA gives to the school are for:
