This year we have a soft start bell and a school starts bell. Students may arrive at 8:55am for our soft start. School starts at 9:05am. Students will be marked tardy after 9:05am. If your child arrives after 9:05, they will need to be signed in at the front office. There will be no access from any outside teacher doors after 9:05am. Students are not allowed to be unattended on school grounds prior to 8:55am.
If your student would like to come for our breakfast program, they may arrive at 8:45am and enter through the front doors. There will be supervision in the cafeteria while they eat and they will join the class for soft start at 8:55am.
The office hours are 8:30am-4:15pm. Please keep in mind that there will be no access to the building outside of these hours.
Attendance Line 303-982-7813 (24 hour access)
Please call the attendance line if your student will be:
Absent
Late
Leaving Early
When a child is absent and we have not received a call from you, we will call you for confirmation. If we cannot reach parent/guardian, we will call anyone else listed as emergency contacts until we are sure your child is safe. If we still cannot contact you, we may decide to call authorities to conduct a welfare check. PLEASE call the attendance line and let us know when your student is out. We worry about our kids and need to know they are safe at all times.
If your student will be absent three days or more, a Pre Approved Absent form must be filled out and given to the students teacher prior to leaving.
We welcome volunteers to help in classrooms again this year. Please first check with your teacher as to what days and times they need you. All parents will complete a confidentiality form before working in the classroom.
Upon arrival, you will sign in at the front office and get a visitor's badge. If you are dropping your student off in the morning at the start of the day, you may wait with your child outside of their respective classroom doors. Due to our district security guidelines, you are not allowed to walk your child to their classrooms INSIDE at the start of the day . If you need to talk to your student's teacher, please schedule an appointment with him/her. In addition, when school dismisses at 3:45, your student will exit the school outside of the same classroom doors. We ask that you wait for your student to be dismissed.
Bloom will be at Leawood on the following days:
August 24th - PreK (full day/AM) & Kindergarten
August 25th - 1st - 3rd Grade
August 26th - 4th, 5th & PreK (PM)

BRING YOUR BIG SMILES!
In case of an emergency, we need each student to have three or more emergency contacts listed in Jeffco Connect.
In order to receive all communication from the school during the school year, and any districts news, we need to have the correct phone numbers and email addresses in Jeffco Connect. It is important not to block or unsubscribe messages that come from either the school or district or you will not receive communications about upcoming news, school events or important emergency information. Please make sure you have access to your Jeffco Connect account throughout the school year. If you ever need help with your account or password re-set, please call the office for assistance.
Please go into Jeffco Connect to review and pay for your student's fees. If you are planning on completing the Application For Free/Reduced Lunch, please do it as soon as possible. Please note that all F/R information must be updated on a yearly basis. Those who qualify for Free & Reduced assistance will have breakfast, lunch, bus and all of the other school fees waived.
Leawood is once again offering the BakPak weekend food program for families in need. This is sponsored by local faith-based ministries and businesses. Please call our school social worker Mrs. Jennifer Magri (303-982-4765) or reach out to Mrs Shehan if you are interested in participating.
Please keep your child at home if they are experiencing the following symptoms:
Cough
Runny Nose
Sore Throat
Fever
If you have been called to pick your child up due to illness, they must be picked up from school within 15 minutes. If you cannot pick them up within 15 minutes, please have someone on your emergency contact list pick your child up.
The Health room is in need of girl/boy clothing, especially new underwear, pants ranging in sizes XXS-XL and socks.
Leawood School Age Enrichment is now enrolling for the 2021-2022 school year.
