National School Social Work Week is celebrated annually during the first full week of March. The week is a time to recognize and appreciate the work of school social workers, March 3-7. We thank Mrs. Magri for everything she does for Leawood and the kids. Let her know how much you appreciate her.
Jeffco READS has merged with Jeffco READS @ Home to provide virtual instruction for K-3 students on a READ Plan. Current K-8 students with a Lexia license who are not on a READ Plan can also participate in the summer program, but their progress will not be monitored.
Columbine High School recently celebrated its annual Wish Week in partnership with Make-A-Wish Colorado. This year, Columbine sponsored Amelia, who was diagnosed with aplastic anemia as a kindergartener.
Amelia’s wish was to go to Disney World, and the Columbine community rallied to make her wish come true, raising $30,000 for the 2nd grader from nearby Normandy Elementary.
The Disney-themed week included spirit days, assemblies and a community carnival.
