Closures & Delayed Start

We live in an area where snow is typical in the winter and unless the storm is extreme, school will not be canceled or delayed.

Many factors are taken into consideration when deciding to close schools, but the safety of students and staff is the number one consideration. Decision-makers and district staff work through the night and early morning to determine the best course of action and to clear the roads and our school sites.

Security, Alerts, and Emergency Notifications

DISTRICT SAFETY PLAN AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

The district's safety plan identifies security programs and measures that focus on prevention, intervention, and crisis response.

• Review our Emergency Situations at School document which describes the types of emergencies that can occur in schools and how families should respond. (Also available in Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese.)

• The School Safety Plan is designed to be used by school principals to create safe and respectful school environments.

• Learn about the Standard Response Protocol (Spanish) for responding to school emergencies.

• Learn about the Standard Reunification Method (Spanish) for picking up students during events related to school emergencies.
