For the Month of May Dragonflys will be learning:
The students will be able to
Build phonological awareness, and that it is the building block for understanding language
Measure objects by their various attributes using standard and non standard measurements to make comparisons
Explore concepts and facts related tot he earth's materials and their uses.
Understand ones relationship to the family and community and respect differences in others.
Parent Volunteer Opportunity:
The planter boxes in the sandboxes right outside of our classrooms, has been preschool's responsibility to plant them and try and get donations. In the past O'Tools have donated flowers for the planters.
If there is a parent that would like to take on that role of working to get flowers donated for those planters, and getting some other parents to help plant then please let me know! We can even coordinate a day that the students can help.
Please let me know if you would like to be in charge of that by May 1st.
Reminders/Updates
- As we are entering the cold and flu season, please keep these preschool and Jeffco policies in mind. If your child has a fever, vomiting or diarrhea please do not return your child until they are 24 hours free without medication.
-Also, please keep in mind that our doors will close 15 minutes after the start of class. Therefore, Ladybugs AM doors will close at 8:45, Dragonfly will close at 9:15, and Ladybug PM will close at 12:45. If you arrive after the 15 minutes, then please go through the front doors of the school and enter through the school. This is to ensure the safety of all students and staff here at Leawood. This will be the same for pick up times.
-I would also like to remind you of the preschool late policy. If you are late picking up your child, then the first time is ok and a warning. If you are late a second time or beyond, then I will need to add $10 to your account. This is a Jeffco Preschool policy.
-Parking reminder:
*AM Ladybugs: May use hug and go line from 8:30-8:40. If you arrive after that, park and walk in. May use the hug and go line at pick up (11:30)
*Dragonfly: Please park and walk in at drop off (9am), 12 noon parents may use hug and go line to pick up. At 3:45 pick up, please park and walk in.
*PM Ladybugs: May use hug and go line at drop off (12:30) at pick up you may use hug and go line from 3:30 to 3:40. If arrive after 3:40, please park and walk in.
