We have launched a live and interactive COVID-19 case count dashboard for the community. Anyone looking for information about cases in our schools should refer to this dashboard.
For many Jeffco students, the first person they see in the morning is their bus driver. In our district, we are proud to have so many dedicated employees who welcome students to the day with a smile and ensure they arrive safely at school.
Every year we have ongoing challenges hiring bus drivers and typically we have just enough to run our routes. With the arrival of COVID-19, our challenges are even greater. If our transportation staff is affected by a positive COVID-19 case or a quarantine situation and we are short drivers, we will have to make changes to the availability of student transportation, like canceling specific routes or an entire area for a period of time. If your family uses the district’s transportation system, please be aware this may occur at any time and possibly, on very short notice. It may be necessary for you to arrange for transportation for your student, so please have an alternative plan to get your student to school. We understand this is inconvenient and frustrating, but please know, we will do everything in our power to provide transportation reliably and safely.

We would like to be sure all Jeffco families are aware of our free and reduced meals program, the advantages it offers for families who qualify, and how it can affect school funding. If your family is experiencing hardship, this program can provide support for more than just meals. Approval for free and reduced meals may also entitle you to additional supports from the district, including reduced or waived school fees and some activity fees. Your school needs every family who may qualify for free and reduced meals to apply because your school also receives additional resources and funding based on their number of qualified families. Funding for things like family liaisons, mental health support, nursing and medical staff, language resources, and grants for programming and other services are affected by free and reduced meals qualification.
Your application is vital so we can continue to provide free and reduced meals and other services to all qualified families. To learn more, visit our Free and Reduced Meals webpage for details and how to apply. It’s important to start this process now so that your child’s support can start right away. If you have questions about this program, contact Tammy Lundy at 303.982.2396 or Tammy.Lundy@jeffco.k12.co.us.

Starting June 22, our Return-to-Workouts Plan takes effect and is intended to give guidance for returning to workouts while adhering to state and local guidelines in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our workout plan is set up in phases and the transition from one phase to the next can only be accomplished by meeting guideline criteria. Workouts must remain voluntary to students (CHSAA bylaws) and coaches, and all Jeffco coaches are required to follow these guidelines. Plan specifics can be reviewed here.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of our student-athletes and their families as we prepare our facilities and define the information they will need about the restart of athletic programs. Coaches and athletic directors are excited to welcome our athletes and participants back to our fields and programs.
Now that a login is required to access a Zoom meeting, we have added a video to this Tech Tip for Accessing a Zoom Meeting as a Student.

As a reminder to families and students, the Jeffco Public Schools Code of Conduct applies at all times - whether a student is attending in-person or remote learning. One of our guiding principles is to provide a warm, welcoming, safe, and supportive learning environment regardless of learning model. Please review the Code of Conduct and our Remote Learning Behavior Expectations with your student as a reminder of our expectations.
Additionally, we have provided some information and updates about Restorative Practices - a process practiced in our schools that takes a collaborative approach to building connection and relationships and repairing harm. We have also provided resources for using Restorative Practices at home.
