FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Leawood Families,

As members of our wonderful school community, I am reaching out to you with a request for your assistance. In recent times, we have observed a decline in enrollment not just within our district, but also in our school. We believe that one of the most powerful ways to combat this trend is by spreading the word about the incredible things happening within our school walls.

We are proud of the exceptional education and supportive environment we provide to our students, and we want more families to experience the joy and benefits of being part of our school community. That's where you come in! We kindly ask for your help in spreading the word about our school through your social media networks as well as sites that feedback and comments from families. These include Niche (LINK), Great Schools (LINK), and Google Reviews (LINK). Majority of our Google Reviews go back six years and I would like to have more update reviews so that it can be more informative to potential parents.

You can make a significant difference by adding positive comments and reviews on various websites and social media platforms, sharing your personal experiences and highlighting the strengths of our school. Additionally, please consider posting on your social media channels that we are still accepting students for the upcoming school year.

Additionally, if anyone was willing to share cut and paste the below infographic to any social media sites that too would be extremely helpful.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and ensure a bright future for our students.

CMAS Testing Reminder: April 2nd-April 11th for Grades 3-5

A friendly reminder that CMAS testing for grades 3rd-5th will commence on April 2nd. Testing for the 3rd-4th grade will be April 2nd-April 4th and April 8th-April 11th. Since 5th graders have to take a science portion as well, their testing schedule is slightly different. They will start the first week the same way as the 3rd and 4th graders, 4/2-4/4, but then the second week test 4/8-4/12, and then Tuesday, 4/16. Please try to avoid appointments or pulling your children from school on these mornings to help alleviate the amount of make-up exams we would have to do. Let's support our students as they showcase their knowledge and skills on the CMAS exams.

Your Proud Principal,

Kevin Kolasa

Attention 3rd-5th Grade Parents:

CMAS State Testing

In April, our 3rd through 5th grade students will begin taking the CMAS state assessments. These assessments provide us with another measure of how our students are progressing toward state standards. We use this information as another way to ensure that we are meeting the needs of each student in our school. This data also allows us to make sure our classroom instruction is supporting our students. We appreciate your support in making sure that your child is at school on time during the testing.  Please check the schedule of testing for your student(s) and try to avoid any appointments during this time.  Thank you.
