Move To School Day

This annual event encourages students to walk, bike, and roll to school on Wednesday, May 3rd. We will have obstacle courses, hopscotch, and other fun games along Leawood and Jay Street as you walk, bike or roll to school. We are giving out raffle tickets to win prizes to those who walk, bike or roll. For those of you that live too far to walk, meet at Leawood Park at 8:30am and we will have volunteers to walk with the kids the rest of the way. If you ride the bus, we are asking Mr. Zack to park down the street and we will have volunteers walk the kids to school.

Flyer - English    Spanish

We need volunteers to help with this event and also some parents to donate Cuties(oranges). If you would like to volunteer, please contact Leah Lefevre or email her at Leah.Lefevre@jeffco.k12.co.us

Safety First

If you are picking up your child early from school and the office staff does not recognize you, we will need to ask for your ID. If you send someone else to pick up your student, let them know they will need to bring their ID before we release the student to them.  If the person picking up your student is not on Campus as an authorized “pick up” person, we will not release the student until such person has been added. If you need assistance adding emergency contacts, please call the office and we will walk you through the process.

Leawood Class of 2023 Senior Celebration

Do you know a graduating High School senior who went to Leawood? Please reach out to them and tell them about our breakfast tradition, May 16 at 9:30am. We are inviting back all of our Leawood Lions that were here for 6th grade to this years breakfast. We will invite back former teachers who  knew them as well.  Should be fun! Have them call the school to RSVP or email Jennifer.Magri@jeffco.k12.co.us

School Fees

Please review your fees and pay any outstanding amounts. These fees are for materials that your student received at the start at Leawood and has been using to help learning or for field trips. School funds are utilized to enhance the classroom experience such as extra support with Paraprofessionals, Chromebooks, Mimios, books etc. When fees are unpaid, we spend school funds to cover the expenses. Please pay your students outstanding fees.

Unpaid fees will convert to fines at the end of the school year and will stay on the students record into the next grade levels until paid, regardless to which Jeffco School you transfer. Please pay ASAP. Fees can be viewed and paid online via Infinite Campus. Fees for multiple students may be paid in a single transaction. Fees can also be paid via cash, check or credit card in the office with Mrs. Russell (303-982-7860). If you are struggling with a hardship or need assistance regarding outstanding fees, please feel free to email Mrs. Russell at: mrussell@jeffco.k12.co.us or principal Mrs. Hoefner at: marcella.hoefner@jeffco.k12.co.us

Medication Pickup

If your child has medication at the school, please pick up their medication on the last day of school, May 26th. Medication must be picked up by the parent/guardian. We are not allowed to give it to the child. Any medication that is not picked up from the health clinic by Friday, May 26 at 4pm will be disposed of.

Thank you,

Mrs. Perry
