FROM THE PRINCIPAL
March 2021
Dear Leawood Families,
Welcome March! It is amazing to think that our second semester is well underway and that the cold of winter will soon disappear. Thank you to all the families who attended conferences in February. Your child’s education is truly a collaborative effort to ensure that they are growing as learners and social individuals. I have often thought that this is the busiest time of year. Classrooms in our building are full of thoughtfully planned, engaging authentic activities. Our staff is incredible! Those who choose to devote their lives to teaching children are unique individuals. They enter the teaching profession with the knowledge that they will be touching the heart and mind of a child forever. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated staff working with our children each day.
Thanks to PTSA and our Read-a-Thon team of teachers and staff who have been transforming the building to look like a museum of Dr. Seuss favorites. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share with you. Our Read-a-Thon fundraiser kicks off Tuesday, March 2, Dr. Seuss' birthday. Each day we'll highlight one of his books and have fun activities for the students. Be sure to check out the PTSA page, linked at the bottom of this one, for lots more information. One prize not listed on the prize sheet is something I will provide. The top seller in EACH class will earn a drive with me afterschool one day to Dairy Queen for a treat and then a ride home. These 15 top sellers (including our remote classes) will be able to bring a family member or student in your cohort along for the fun. Good Luck, Lions!
Spring break is just around the corner, and the end of the school year will be here before we know it! Thank you for your continued support and partnership. As your principal, I continue to strive for a successful experience for your child. I welcome any questions, concerns or comments anytime. Please feel free to send me an email or contact me in the office at any time.
