APEX Fun Run

The APEX Fun Run is coming!! This year the Fun Run will be on Thursday, September 27th. This is the first of only 2 fundraisers for Leawood. This year, the pledges will be used for creating our Leawood Garden!

In the next few weeks, there will be phone calls, fliers, and lots of excitement coming from our kiddos :) Be on the lookout for information on how to get friends and family members to sponsor your kiddos, and raise some money for our beautiful Leawood Garden.

We also need YOUR help in making this fundraiser successful. If you could spare any time during the day on the 27th, we’d welcome your support. Please email Melissa Kohn at mekohn4@gmail.com if you’d like to help!  Thank you, parents,  for all you do for our kids and school!

Scrip Fundraising for Outdoor Lab, Chromebooks

We are giving away money - that’s right, we are giving YOU money to send your child to Outdoor Ed when they are in 6th grade.  But wait - they won’t be at Leawood anymore?! That’s okay, as long as you stay in Jeffco, the money we give you will follow your student!!

How do you get this FREE MONEY?  It’s really very simple, I promise! Just use Scrip for things that you already spend money on - gift cards, gas, groceries, restaurants, and travel.  Instead of Leawood keeping all of the rebate that Scrip give them, Leawood gives you half! That’s right, just for spending money on things you already buy.

I know, Scrip… it’s too hard!  ...it’s overwhelming! ...I don’t plan ahead enough!   ...I need someone to explain it all to me like I am a 5 year old, in simple terms, so I really get it!

I am here for YOU!  I didn’t understand it all either and now my twins are in 4th grade.  The number of years I wasted by thinking that I just didn’t have time to understand it - argh!  Watch for an upcoming FaceBook Live Event, where you can login from home, and learn about Scrip.  You can ask questions and start saving right away!

The fastest way to get started is by purchasing a $5 King Soopers card. The card will come with $5 loaded on it and then, each time you go grocery shopping (it works at the gas pump too) just load it up (at the Customer Service Desk or at a cash register) and use it to check out. BOOM - you get 2.5% of all your gas and grocery expenses in your Scrip account. It will add up fast!

You can also use this order form and order physical gift cards for your personal use and/or gifts.  Just shift your thinking from “debit / credit card” to GIFT CARD.  The order form can be turned in anytime and orders will be place on the 3rd Friday of each month and the cards will be sent home in your student’s Friday folder (unless you instruct us differently).

In the meantime, if you have questions or want to get starting earning  your FREE MONEY, send me an email, a text, or call me - Stephanie Schmalz, stephschmalz@outlook.com, 303-570-6010.

Spring Fling Fundraiser - SAVE THE DATE

Join us on April 5th, 2019 for our SPRING FLING!! Drinks, music, and FUN to support our Leawood Lions!! Where? The Farmhouse at Breckenridge Brewery!! That Eighties Band will be performing, and there will be lots of awesome items to bid on in the silent auction!

Although the Spring Fling isn’t until April, we are beginning our search for donations for the silent auction! Do you own a business? Are you in network marketing? Do you make jewelry? Do you teach anything? Let us know!!  The Spring Fling is a community event, and we would love to showcase the talent of our Leawood families! Holiday Workshop

The Holidays are coming whether we are ready or not! WHAT exactly is the Holiday Workshop? It is a fun traditional activity hosted by the Leawood PTSA for kids and their families to come and make homemade crafts and gifts. There will be several fun crafts and gifts to choose from ranging in price from $1.00-10.00. This is a fun and exciting activity for all members of your family.

The first meeting for the Holiday Workshop will be on September 10th at 630PM at Brianna Gillmore’s House (6044 S. Lamar Dr.). Come and See what we will be doing for the workshop this year, discuss what crafts the families will be doing, help organize for the upcoming months! If possible, please have 3-4 crafts already made ready to share with the group! Contact Brianna at briannagillmore25@gmail.com or call/text 309-314-7632 for more information!
