Current Students
All current Leawood families who intend to return to Leawood next year must complete the "Intent to Return" portion in Enroll Jeffco. This helps us plan for next year's numbers and staffing as we prepare our budget for 2022-23. You may also indicate if you plan to apply to another Jeffco school, or plan to move and leave Jeffco altogether.
Current Leawood 5th graders who are choice enrolled (don't live in the Leawood neighborhood) but who plan to apply to Ken Caryl Middle School for 6th grade next year, you MUST choice enroll at Ken Caryl. They typically have a wait list, so make sure you get registered in Round 1 before January 28
Preschool and Kindergarten Registration happening now! Choice enrollment for the 2022-23 school year is here!
Round 2 for the 2022-23 school year will open February 2, 2022 and will stay opened till the end of the school year.

FULL DAY PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN: Leawood will have limited space in our Full Day Preschool so be sure to accept your offer, if you received one, before it expires. All Jeffco Kindergarten programs are full day.
Incoming Preschoolers for the 2022/2023 school year
Once you have received and accepted an offer for the 2022/2023 school year, the enrollment packet will be emailed to you. Please send in your packet asap or your enrollment will be incomplete.
Incoming Kindergartners for the 2022-2023 School Year
Please upload the following documents to Parent Portal when you receive and accept an offer:
Birth Certificate
Current Immunizations
Proof of residency if Leawood is your home school (phone bill, cable bill, etc..)
Copy of Parent ID
These documents must be uploaded or your enrollment will be incomplete.
District Approved Excused Absences
A student who is absent for an extended period due to physical, mental, or emotional disability.
Excused absences include funerals, illness, injury, legal obligations, medical procedures and religious observations, and extenuating circumstances determined by the principal.
A student who is attending a school sponsored activity
A student who is visiting a parent or guardian who is an active duty member of the uniformed services and has been called to duty, is on leave from, or immediately returning from deployment to a combat zone or combat support posting.
Pre-Arranged Absences
Water Bottles
Please make sure your child has their water bottle at school everyday. We have been giving out paper cups to those students who do not have a water bottle, but paper cups can't be recycled and we want to keep our school and environment clean.
If your child has any health issues that impact your child's school day in anyway, please contact our District Nurse or Health Aide. This includes broken limbs, crutches, wheelchairs, concussion, changes in meds, so that we can better serve your child while they are in our care.

Please keep your children home if they have the following- Sore throat, runny nose, cough, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, stomach ache or nausea.
The Health Room needs under ware, size sm-lg and we are in need of pants(leggings/sweats) for the older kids, size med & lg.

From the Financial Office
Please don't forget to go login to Parent Portal and verify that all of your student's fees have been paid. Although this year all students eat for free, fees won't waived unless you apply and qualify for Free & Reduced. If you would like to apply for Free & Reduced, here is the link to the application. Since the district changed to a School Based Budget, we have to pay all of our fees directly out of our school budget. While you are in Parent Portal, please verify your personal information and make sure we have updated phone numbers and email addresses. In addition, please be sure to add additional emergency contacts other than just parents listed just in case we are unable to reach a guardian. If you need assistance with fees, feel free to contact Mrs. Russell at 303-982-7860 ext. #5.
Snack Donations for Staff
With all that's going on these days, our staff loves a little pick me up to make it through the day. We have a candy jar and a snack jar in the staff lounge which get re-filled daily. Please consider sending in individually packaged snacks and candies to support this effort to keep morale up for our staff. Favorites are cheese/peanut butter crackers, trail mix, nuts, chips, cookies, granola bars, and beef jerky. Thank you in advance. Leawood is so lucky to have such a supportive community.
