End of Year Classroom Prep
Overview
This page is designed to help you prepare your classroom so that it is ready for you, or whoever is assigned to use the room, when school starts in the fall.
It's always a nice feeling to walk into your room in the fall and find working technology and to be able to easily find equipment, cords, remotes, etc.
Ceiling Mounted Projection System & Document Camera Prep
Label your cables so that you can easily reconnect your document camera/projector in the fall.
Submit a HelpDesk ticket to request longer cables if your cables are not long enough to be safely used in your classroom.
Place all remotes in an obvious location.
Verify that sound system is working properly. Examples:
The is a delay in the sound when playing videos;
There's interference when you play audio from your computer;
The sound is not loud enough when I turn the dial all the way up.
Verify that your projected image looks fantastic. If not, put in a ticket describing what you need. Examples:
The image is too high and displays above the screen;
The image is too small and could be larger;
The image is blurry;
The image is too washed out/faded;
If there are any problems, submit a Web HelpDesk ticket before you leave for summer break.
Note: If you need cable covers, please talk with your building principal about how to obtain them. These are not provided by Tech Services.
Digital Materials Backup
Back up your files to Google Drive or a USB drive.
Back up your computer:
Use file2/staffhome location to upload your files as desired (files are not available when you are at home).
If you are leaving the district, please make sure that you:
Distribute your Google Documents to the people who may need them; and/or

Staff Computers/Devices
Create Web Helpdesk tickets for computer issues (e.g., vertical lines in the screen, noisy fans or clicking sounds, administrator access (all staff should have admin access to their own device). If you have a laptop, make sure to talk with Tech Services about the best place to leave it for them to repair over the summer.
Make sure all equipment is turned off, including:
Computer
Projector/Document cameras
Televisions,VCRs and DVD players
USB connected printers
Unplug everything from the wall, including surge protectors.
Make a note of which ports your devices are plugged into (phone and internet) so that you can easily reconnect your devices in the fall.
Are you in need of a DVD player because you new computer didn't come with a DVD drive? Put in a ticket requesting one for fall. Be sure to include what you want to use the DVD player for (playing movies, burning discs, etc).
