Setting a Default PDF Reader: Adobe Reader & Preview
When you view a PDF document, your Macintosh computer defaults to opening it with either Preview or the Adobe Reader program.
In some cases, it is easier to view with one than with the other. To do so:
Control-click (hold down the control key while clicking) on any PDF document on your computer, and
Select the program you want to use to open it with from the menu.
If you find that you always want to use Preview or Adobe Reader:
Reset your default by control-clicking on any PDF document on your computer;
Select Get Info from the menu (see image above);
Find the Open with menu and select the default program that you would like to use (see image below);
Click the Change All button below the Open with menu option.
