Chromebook Printing
Chromebook printing is possible for all Chrome OS devices that are managed by Tech Services.
Printers have to be configured by Tech Services in Google CloudPrint.
To date, all library and lab printers that are currently available to students have been added to Google CloudPrint.
Directions: To print to a library, lab or other configured printer (see Caveats listed below), each USER must select their own printer:
1. Select Print
2. Click the Change button to select the preferred printer.
3. Select the printer from the list.
Caveats
Chromebooks must be "enrolled" Chrome Management.
The only printers that can be made available to students are those with a permanent ethernet connection. Mobile printers (those that are on carts) and printers on the wireless network cannot be configured for Google CloudPrint.
Additional hardwired printers can be made available to students through the WebHelpDesk.
Once a printer is made available to Google CloudPrint, all students in the school will be able to see and use the printer. Be sure to clearly communicate with students about which printers they should be printing to and where they are located. See Steps 1-3 above.
Troubleshooting
If your Chromebook cannot print, please verify:
(a) You have selected a printer as shown in Steps 1-3 above; and
(b) The Chromebook is enrolled in Chrome Management. Tech Services can provide this information for you.
