HMH FAQs
Difference Between HMH Player & ThinkCentral
What's the difference between HMH Player and ThinkCentral?
Answer:
ThinkCentral has all HMH resources and allows students to complete tech enhanced online assessments and performance assessments.
HMH Player allows students to interact with content, but they cannot take tech enhanced assessments (they can complete performance assessments).
Teachers cannot do lesson planning in HMH Player at this time. HMH advises that teachers wait to use the lesson planning tool — estimated timeframe is the beginning of the year.
Where should I set up my lessons and resources for student use?
Answer: For now, create them in the ThinkCentral Dashboard. They will transfer automatically and show up in HMH Player. WARNING: In the past, if they were set up in the HMH Player, they are only contained in the player. I have not found this to be true.
Who can log into HMH Player?
Answer: Students and the teachers who have classes in ThinkCentral — meaning, only the classroom teacher. We are looking for a solution for specialists (e.g., title, ELD, SPED)
When should teachers log into HMH Player?
Answer: If you want to create assignments that students will complete in HMH Player.
Do students have to log in to HMH Player?
Answer: Yes, they use the same username and password as ThinkCentral.
Why would students log into ThinkCentral?
Answer: So that they can take online assessments.
