Google Meet for K-1
Overview
Google has released an updated app for Google Meet which makes the use of Google Meet easier for our K-1 students on iPads. The app will be pushed out to all iPads in the district in November.
Why Change?
Using Safari on iPads: difficult for students to move back and forth from breakout rooms.
The mic and camera needs to be approved with every room change while in Safari.
Students/staff need to be trained to approve the use of the mic/camera and to understand how to move back and forth between the breakout and main room.

In the new Google Meet app, students set the permissions once.

Other Meet Issues
Audio / Video dropping on some iPads when using Breakout Rooms. This could be related to using Meet in Safari, but there is no guarantee that is the case.
Poor connection stability/students being dropped from the meeting. Pat had this issue when testing in Safari a few times, but did not see it when using the app. This may or may not be attributed to Safari
