Synergy Photo Management
Student photos are loaded once a year at the district level, usually in the Nov –Dec timeframe. Lifetouch will send a CD to Technology Services and the photos are mass loaded. The bulk of the student photos are loaded in the process, however, there are times when students miss photo day, photos are attached to the wrong student, or enroll later in the year, and these photos have to be loaded separately. For those situations, photos can be loaded individually through the ‘Student’ view in Synergy.
When coming across photos that are attached to the wrong student id, ‘clear’ the photo and attach an alternate. On the Student screen, click on the ‘Menu’ dropdown and click on ‘Attach Photo’. A pop-up window will appear with options to ‘Clear Photo’. You can also browse for a photo on your computer and upload that photo, replacing the old one.
Once you clear the student photo, you will have to go back to the ‘Menu’ and use the attach feature again to attach a new photo. When you are finished attaching a new photo, you may have to logout of Synergy, clear cache, and log back in to see the changes to the photos. If you have the photo cd’s from Lifetouch or any other source, you can load those files via this process.
You can also take photos via phone or camera, load them to your computer and use this process as well. Synergy will take just about any photo format, we have used the following so far (.png, .jpg, .bmp). If you don’t have student photos to upload, we can load them from tech services, however sometimes we don’t have a very recent photo of the student as we only get updated once a year.
