District staff and students should never use Guest Network SPS! Doing so may mess up your device configuration or cause your District account to be locked out!

District Wireless Networks

This is a list of the wireless networks (aka SSIDs) you are likely to encounter in the District.

SPS_Secure

This is the standard wireless network staff should be using.

Technical Details: SPS_Secure is a WPA2 Enterprise wireless network utilizing PEAPv0 and MS-CHAPv2.

SPS-Client

This is the wireless network that student devices and other certain devices should be using. 

Technical Details: SPS-Client is a WPA2 Personal wireless network. The password (PSK) should not be shared outside of Technology Services ever!

Guest Network SPS

This is a wireless network available for non-district people only! Staff and students should never use this network. If you see this wireless network in the preferred or saved list on a District device, please delete it, as it can interfere with MDM policies and cause network interruptions for these users.

Technical Details: This is an open wireless network with a captive portal login. The password is available to select staff in the SPS Portal.

sps-infrastructure

This wireless network is primarily for OT (Operational Technology. Eg. HVAC, boilers, etc). Except in rare cases, District devices should not be connected to it. If you see this wireless network in the preferred or saved list on a District device, please delete it, as it can interfere with MDM policies and cause network interruptions for these users.

Technical Details: This is a WPA2 Personal wireless network.

sps-guest

This is a wireless network that was available for general use during the Great Pandemic of 2020. It's still available on a couple WAPs until Jake finally comes to grip with shutting them off. Devices connected to this SSID are placed outside our firewall for security reasons.

Technical Details: This is an open wireless network.

Guest Wireless

Out-of-District guests should use "Guest Network SPS". Guests may obtain the guest password from the building secretary. 


To access the “Guest Network SPS” password, the secretary or administrative assistant should log into the district portal and select “People” from the drop down menu as displayed below.
