HMH Player: Technical Information

HMH Player is still in development and we are still finding components that do not work from the student perspective. 

Please use ThinkCentral until further notice.

In order to install HMH Player on a Windows or Macintosh system, you must download and install the Google Chrome browser. For more information, see Configure a Student Device.

iPads: The HMH Player app has been pushed to all elementary iPads. If it is not installed on an iPad at your school, open the Self Service app and install it.

Upgrade a Chromebook, Macintosh Computer, or Windows Computer

Google Chrome automatically upgrades HMH Player on a Chromebook, Macintosh computer or Windows computer. 

Offline lessons and assignments will be deleted in the upgrade process. Any work completed but not synced is retained but must be synced.

To sync offline lessons and assignments:

• 1. Download the assignment or lesson again.

  2. Log out of HMH Player.

  3. Put your device in an offline state and log in to HMH Player in offline mode.

  4. Log out of HMH Player and connect to the Internet.

  5. Log in to HMH Player and it automatically syncs.

Upgrade an iPad

Offline lessons and assignments will be deleted in the upgrade process. Any work completed but not synced is retained but must be synced.

To update HMH Player on an iPad:

• 1. Tap the App Store icon.

  2. Tap the Updates tab.

  3. Tap the Update icon next to HMH Player.
