Overview
All staff using technology with students are responsible for protecting student private information and teaching digital citizenship and responsible behavior. Federal law requires that school districts protect the privacy of the students they serve. Springfield schools, "as required by the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act, must provide for educating minors about appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms, and cyberbullying awareness and response."
