One of the defaults in Synergy is to exclude an assignment grade from a student's class grade. This is done using an "ex" as a comment code and shows up in the grade book as a little red "e." When an assignment is excluded from the grade, it does NOT show up in ParentVUE/StudentVUE. This may be particularly helpful when you have an incoming student partway into the year.
If you use "ex" in your grade book, you should note that this status also shows up on the Enter Scores screen.
If you would like to get rid of those little "e" symbols (or any other comments associated with a particular score), when you are on the Grade Book main page you can remove the excluded "e" by entering the following: the score followed by space !ex
For example: 5 !ex
Please note that this will however also remove any existing comments.
Another option is to uncheck them in this screen — and yes, we have submitted a request to Synergy to be able to remove them from the main grade book screen.
