One of the most exciting new costumes Irvin debuted at MISTI-Con 2015 was Ron Weasley, who despite being a main character is never cosplayed. Irvin really doesn't like Ron, but the character proved to be a lot of fun - Irvin just played off Ron's raging inferiority complex, and spent the whole day whining and complaining. For an extra bit of authenticity, Irvin's wand broke that morning, so the Ron cosplay was complete with a broken wand.

The plan was to actually be Viktor Krum during the Wizarding World Fair, but it proved too cold, so Irvin went with the costume that included a Weasley sweater. In a very fortuitous turn of events, there was a turquoise Ford Anglia parked outside the hotel. To the enjoyment of all the congoers, Ron and his mother marched through the con to do a photo shoot with the car, involving Ron getting thrown out of it, Molly yelling at him, and a bit of ear-pulling.

The Wizarding World Fair included a Bewitching Bazaar, where Irvin bought a Gryffindor hat to complete the Ron costume. The event was positively crawling with Molly Weasleys, forcing Ron to take a lot of pictures. But Irvin's one true cosplay mother, Margaret, later said that Ron was her favorite of Irvin's Weasley cosplays - "You were so whiny, it was a perfect Ron!" A lot of Ron's family was present at the event. His daughter Rose was there - but Ron's paternal instinct didn't kick in, and he didn't do much parenting.

Also there was Chris Rankin, the actor who actually plays Percy Weasley in the movies. After making sure to get a picture with him, Irvin later ran into him near the obstacle course. Irvin challenged him to a race, but Chris declined, leading to a lot of crowing from Ron over finally beating a brother at something (by default). The brothers then united in badgering their mother to do the obstacle course (she also declined). In the end, Ron ended up racing kids at the obstacle course (winning by a hair), and somehow ended up in a bouncy house full of Death Eaters. It was an odd kind of afternoon.

Ron was part of a huge Weasley family photo (including Chris Rankin). He also got to meet the designers of the Wizarding World in Orlando. Considering it's Ron, a lot of really good things happened that afternoon!

For the Ministry Masquerade that concluded the con, Irvin went as Ron in his hideous dress robes from the Yule Ball. This outfit had been planned for two years, since the last MISTI-Con, and it was a big hit. It was maroon, frilly, too big, and frayed - and also fairly light and exceedingly comfortable to dance in for hours on end. It's amazing how many cosplay photo opportunities are afforded to Ron Weasleys - being repulsed by Pettigrew, shouting matches with Hermione, etc. Even eating cake was done in character - there was a shortage of forks, so Ron just ate the cake with his face. A Weasley through and through.

Because the dress robes were such a hit - and were the perfect mix of comfortable and thematically appropriate for a ball - Irvin wore the outfit to the final ball at Leviosa 2016. There was actually another Ron in dress robes there, though the movie version, and they got pictures together.

When TGTSNBN did their annual costumed ice skating meetup in December 2016, Irvin reprised the regular version of Ron - Weasley sweater, Gryffindor robes, and a host of Gryffindor/Hogwarts winter gear. This was done with the express purpose of being a match for a Lavender Brown in attendance. They skated together adorably, took cute couples photos, as well as some raunchier photos of them making out behind a tree. The Ron costume was distinctive enough that even all the muggles understood the intent!

The dress robes were brought out again for the ball at CONjuration 2017, which provided Irvin with a welcome respite from wearing chain mail all day. He found himself playing Death Eater (the HP version of Mafia/Werewolf), and had to contend with an awful lot of hatred directed at gingers.

Two years later, Irvin was invited to celebrate MuggleNet's 20th Anniversary at a swanky party in the Hard Rock Cafe. Needing an outfit that was swanky yet easy to dance in (and not freezing on a brutally cold night), Irvin brought Ron back out. It made for an interesting night since most of the MuggleNet team (who'd never met Irvin in person) did not recognize him!
