Costume Debut: November 2024
Given how much Irvin adores Tangled, Flynn was on his cosplay to-do list for ages - pretty much ever since he found the vest and spent hours getting the buckles onto it just right. Irvin finally seized the moment at CONjuration 2024, and decided Flynn would be his outfit for the Yule Ball.
Irvin took care to get all the accessories - the belts, the boots, the satchel, the tiara (seen below). And he'd long been a master of the smolder. (In fact, he'd given a Rapunzel in Disney World a severe case of the giggles a decade earlier, when they were bantering about Flynn practicing his smolder, and Irvin was ready with it when Rapunzel asked to see his!)
But the costume also contained Irvin's cosplaying archnemesis - facial hair. For all the copious spirit gum applied, that goatee was determined to make its escape, and partway through the night it did.
It wasn't the only thing. Irvin wore Flynn to the Yule Ball, which lasted six hours, and the costume is a really warm one. So as the night went on, the costume started coming off piece by piece... and towards the end, Ke$ha's "Take It Off" played, and Irvin had to follow directions! So all that was left of Flynn by 2am was the boots, pants, and wig. Maybe this is more of a stand-still-and-pose cosplay rather than a dance-for-six-hours one.
What Flynn wouldn't do for that tiara!
Can't fight the smolder!
