Costume Debut: March 2025
The Challengers trio, with Maya as Tashiand Julie as Art
Irvin's friend threw a big Oscars party in 2025, and said that guests and costumes were both encourages - and the costumes could be from any 2025 movie. Since Irvin invited two of his friends along, he thought it'd be a great idea for them to dress as the iconic trio from Challengers, which was absolutely robbed of Oscar nominations. So Maya would be Tashi Duncan, Julie would be Art Donaldson, and Irvin would be Patrick Zweig.
They had to hurriedly order tennis raquets from Amazon, since none of them are actual tennis afficianados. Irvin tried to add the red design to the black tank top to better approximate his character's wardrobe, but the fabric paint largely went through the fabric, leaving more a vague impression of a design. Still, with the three of them together and their tennis balls, the Challengers trio handily won the costume contest at the party!
Along with the tennis accessories, Irvin also brought another iconic "prop" for his character - the banana that Patrick seductively eats at the camera during the movie. This led to perhaps the most absurd photo/video shoot that Irvin's been part of in many years, as the other attendees scrambled to properly light him and direct the shot and actually shoot it... appropriate for a night celebrating how it takes a village to make a movie!
At the end of the night, Irvin deemed it appropriate to end the party just like the movie ended - with Tashi's exhilarating "Come on!" Luckily, Maya was more than up to the challenge.
