Edward Cullen

Costume Debut: MISTI-Con 2015

Honors: Fan Fiction Theatre's Fashion Statement Award

Irvin made his acting debut at MISTI-Con 2015's Fan Fiction Theatre, put on by his friends at Phoenix Tears Productions. Due to time constraints, Irvin took on the smallest role of Twilight's Edward Cullen (who was part of a scene involving an HP/Twilight crossover). Having never read Twilight, Irvin worked with what he knew of Edward: glitter and angst. Thus, Irvin absolutely covered himself in glitter (glitter hairspray being the method of choice, leaving a scene of sparkling carnage in the hotel bathroom).

Upon joining the cast and crew before the show started, Irvin was immediately directed to stand in the sunlight and sparkle for the cameras. Whenever people wanted to take pictures with him, he would just look longingly into their eyes, leading to a host of potential romance novel covers. Upon Edward's entrance in the middle of the show, the entire crowd roared with laughter. As for the cast, the funniest moment was when Edward had to kiss Becca Swan (an OC), who then immediately kissed Jacob Black and Bella Swan, leaving all three parties with a healthy dose of glitter on their face.

After the show, Edward bestowed glittery hugs on anyone who didn't run away fast enough, spreading the sparkle to the entire convention. Thus, he was awarded the Fashion Statement Award by Phoenix Tears Productions, "for an outfit that everyone was wearing by the end of the show." The glitter remained with Irvin for days, no matter how relentlessly he scrubbed, which is why he has denied the popular request for a reprisal of the costume... so far.

Because of reasons (long story), this became the first costume that Irvin created concept art for:
