Fred Weasley

In April 2015, TGTSNBN had a Spring Cosplay Day... which was somewhat awkward timing, as that was a month before MISTI-Con 2015, for which a lot of costumes were being prepped already. Cosplayers faced a dilemma: finding an appropriately cool new costume to wear, that would not detract too much time and money from MISTI-Con efforts. Since Irvin has slowly been making his way through the Weasleys, he hit upon the perfect idea: he and cosplaying partner Cheryl would be the Weasley twins!

Because this was done last-minute and on no budget, Irvin hearkened back to his early cosplaying days of borrowing items, loaning the two Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes t-shirts from friends. Past that, he had enough to outfit two Weasley twins: red wigs, a functional Extendable Ear (from Diagon Alley in Orlando), WWW buttons, and Hogwarts sweatpants. Irvin even brought along some Fever Fudge to tempt the unwary. Most important was a good sense of mischief - many commented that the Weasley twins were the most natural fit for Irvin and Cheryl, who got to run around and be silly all day. They photobombed almost every photo taken, as the twins would do.

It was decided that Irvin would be Fred and Cheryl would be George (denoted by the difference in number of ears) for the first half of the day, and then they would swap at lunchtime. The twins took the mickey out of Hermione, flirted with Angelina, climbed everything in sight, and were scolded by just about everyone present. It was probably the most Irvin has been photographed at any cosplay day.

Of course, no cosplay day is complete without death scenes, and Fred Weasley's was recreated very effectively. Irvin had to lie on the ground as a corpse for ten or fifteen minutes while literally everyone present got a photo crying over his death. One photo in particular, of George crying over his twin's dead body, hit everyone right in the feels.
