Flotsam

For the 2017 Mermaid Parade, Irvin stuck with the Little Mermaid theme from last year, and dressed as Flotsam. (To his great chagrin, he couldn't convince anyone to be Jetsam, though he did have an Ariel and a Flounder in tow.) He created Flotsam's mane out of legwarmers, and spent a long time putting gray make-up on.

While most parade viewers spent their time guessing what marine creature Irvin was supposed to be, they were all agreed that it was incredibly creepy. No less than five small children burst into tears upon seeing Flotsam up close. The costume can therefore be considered a big success!

Flotsam also holds the distinction of being the 100th character Irvin has cosplayed!
