One of Irvin's favorite books outside of Harry Potter is Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which he has been a fan of since 2008. Despite the fandom never really catching on, largely due to substandard film adaptations and substandard books in the sequel series, Irvin found two friends to cosplay the books with: Ginger and Sophie. Together, they dressed up for the musical adaptation, for the final book release, and as a last cosplay event before Ginger moved away. PJO is rather easier to cosplay than Harry Potter, as the costumes are much less intricate, but still lots of fun because one can utilize the locations in NYC.
