Dorothy Hammermeister

When the folks behind Puffs did a reading of their Fantastic Beasts parody in November 2017, Irvin once again dove deep into the universe to dress up as a minor character. This was Dorothy Hammermeister, a witch working in the Wand Permit Office who spends much of the play fretting that she sucks. Irvin related to her based on her abiding hatred of Tina. From the script:

The paper is lowered and a woman is smoking a comically large cigar. This is DOROTHY HAMMERMEISTER.

In instances like this, props are everything. Irvin got a newspaper and replaced it with the appropriate headline, and got a comically large cigar that was something of a bother to keep in his mouth. Absolutely no one understood the costume going in (though one of the actresses did think it was a cute dress), until they saw the props up close - and then the entire team behind Puffs grew very excited! Nothing like a deep dive into obscure characters. Julie Ann Earls, who voices Dorothy Hammermeister, was thrilled to be cosplayed, as seen above. In fact, she's said that this was her favorite of Irvin's Puffs costumes.
