Percy Jackson

Costume Debut: October 2014

Costume Reprised: June 2015

In honor of the release of Blood of Olympus, the final (or so he thought) Camp Half-Blood book, Irvin and his friends had a whole demigod cosplay event that day. Irvin's second character of the night was none other than Percy Jackson himself. He wore a Camp Half-Blood shirt and bead necklace, but (filled with self-loathing) drew on an SPQR tattoo.

With an Annabeth in tow, Irvin had a whole photo shoot at the main NYPL building. This included waking up lion statues, closing the Doors of Death, sacrificing Pandora's box to Hestia, and hanging out in a fountain dedicated to dear old dad (Poseidon). Percy and Annabeth then went to the entrance of the Empire State Building to defend it from monsters, which was much less photogenic than it sounded, and ended the night drinking a blueberry milkshake (duh).

The following June, Irvin and friends did another PJO cosplay day. Among his many costumes, he brought back Percy briefly. He was accompanied by Annabeth and Thalia, allowing for some key shots from the books: Percy and Annabeth discovering Thalia at the pine tree (Sea of Monsters), and Percy and Thalia fighting after Capture the Flag (Titan's Curse).
