Rita Scooter

In the many trips Irvin planned to Puffs before it closed, he was on a mission to cosplay every member of the cast, but that left one slot open for a discretionary costume. Irvin wondered for a while about which character he still wanted most to cosplay, and eventually hit on the perfect one: Rita Scooter. Rita was the journalist of the Puffs universe, so Irvin used the costume to honor the fact that Puffs accidentally turned him into a theatre journalist - one of the many important impacts that Puffs had on his life. She only has one line - "But Cedric, will you win?" - but it's always delivered with aplomb!

Irvin wore it to his twenty-third and penultimate time seeing Puffs, which was also the last "regular" performance of Puffs before Closing Day. August was not really an ideal time to be wearing a fur cape, but that's dedication! The cast was trying to figure out the costume until they saw it at the stage door, complete with quill and everything! Irvin made sure to get photos with all the Puffs involved in Rita's scene.

Ironically, Irvin had spent pretty much the entire summer of 2019 cosplaying a new version of Rita Skeeter, so this fit in perfectly with that aesthetic - it was even the same top! Irvin did get new glasses and feather quills for the outfit - and the fur cape, which definitely seems like it'll be a useful cosplay item going forward!
