Harry Potter

In April 2010, Irvin attended a wizard rock show that had The Whomping Willows playing. So he decided to dress up as Harry Potter, and his friend Jennifer dressed as Draco Malfoy, and they acted totally inappropriately during Whompy's song "Draco and Harry."  They also took many romantic pictures together.  Irvin even had tape on his glasses that was so convincing, several friends asked exasperatedly what he'd done to break his glasses.

He wore the outfit again to the Red Carpet premier of the seventh movie.  The red carpet was a miserable experience, but at least the party afterward was fun!

Many years later, Harry was zhuzhed up and worn again.  For Irvin's 30th birthday, he hosted a TriDecade Tournament - and of course, any HP-themed party centered around paralleling the Triwizard Tournament would see Irvin dressed as Harry Potter (among others).  Harry comprised the first two (of seven) costumes that Irvin wore that day - first in his wizard robes for the Opening Feast, then in his Triwizard jersey for the First Task.

That same year, Irvin brought an outdoorsy Harry costume to the Wizard Retreat Weekend 2022.  There was a Ford Anglia to take pictures in front of!  So there was an entire afternoon photo shoot.  Irvin's friend Jillian was dressed as Ron, and they got photos together with the Ford Anglia from every angle.  Then, Irvin and his friend Ni (dressed as Pettigrew) did a whole photo shoot together of Irvin and Wormtail hurting each other in various ways.  Fortunately, by this point when Irvin's friends see him getting tied to a tree, they pay no mind and continue on their merry way.

That winter, Irvin donned a heavily winterized version of Harry for a frigid trip to the Forbidden Forest experience in Westchester.  Dressed as Harry, with warm Gryffindor hats and scarves and such, Irvin and his friends traipsed through the forest.  Harry bowed to Buckbeak (who bowed back!), held an arm out for Hedwig, and rolled his eyes at Grawp.  He also managed to cast a Patronus on his very first try!
