Every year, there are three major cosplay events in Irvin's life, which are conveniently each four months apart. In February, he has a costumed birthday party. In June, he marches in the Mermaid Parade. And of course, he pulls out all the stops for Halloween. In addition to these, The Group That Shall Not Be Named usually has a Cosplay Day among its yearly events (sometimes two, a Spring and a Fall one), and Irvin always debuts exciting new HP cosplays there.
This is a handy chart of those costumes through the years.

In 2016, Irvin began attending AwesomeCon in Washington DC, an annual all-around geeky convention. Since this is one of the few venues for Irvin to wear non-Potter cosplays, he makes the most of it by focusing on his other major fandoms.
In 2017, Irvin began attending CONjuration in Atlanta, GA - a fantasy-based convention. At first, Irvin treated it as a way to display a highlight reel of his costumes from prior events... but as the major HP conventions, MISTI-Con and Leviosa, fizzled out after 2019, Irvin began using it as a venue in which to debut new costumes (with three of the four being debuts in 2024). Since there is the additional challenge of flying down there with a reasonable amount of luggage, Irvin has to work within that constraint, and usually brings four or five costumes for the weekend - both from HP and other fantasy fiction. The debuts are in bold.
