Quasimodo

Costume Debut: March 2020

Costume Reprised: January 2024

For the Disney DJ Night on February 29th/March 1st (technically March, since the fun begins after midnight), Irvin pulled together a closet cosplay for Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  He used a green tunic, rope belt, and tan leggings to pull the outfit together.  It was only after some Disney novices mistook him for Peter Pan that Irvin realized how similar the two outfits are, though he'd like to think his Peter Pan was much more accurate than this.

As luck would have it, there was a group Hunchback cosplay at the event, with Frollo, Esmerelda, and Clopin, but they were missing Quasimodo!  On top of that, there was another Esmerelda at the event, who (as a regular cosplayer) was patient enough to get the photo just right: Esmerelda wiping Quasi's face after the Festival of Fools.  With such company, Irvin had plenty of photos to take, and he managed to convince the DJs to play "Out There" towards the end of the night.

The only downside is that Irvin constantly had to be hunched over for photos.  He considered actually wearing a hump, but since the event called for hours of dancing, decided that would be impractical.  The hunching was uncomfortable, but at least Irvin finally got to use his terrible posture that caused dance teachers no end of grief!

Irvin brought Quasimodo back for a Little Mermen concert in 2024, when he needed a last-minute costume handy.  While the band regrettably didn't play any songs from Hunchback of Notre Dame, Quasi had no problem rocking out to songs form other Disney movies!
