Olive Penderghast

Irvin's 28th birthday party was themed around "High School Never Ends," given that it took place ten years after Irvin finished high school.  After spending a long time pondering who to dress as, Irvin hit upon the perfect outfit: Olive Penderghast, the protagonist of Easy A (which actually came out the year Irvin graduated high school).  After all, what is more on brand for Irvin in high school than acting like a huge slut but not actually sleeping with anybody?

For this costume, most of the elements Irvin had lying around, and the pants he was able to borrow from his friend Angelica.  But the centerpiece was something new: a corset, the very first one Irvin has ever worn!  (The 2020s are a bold new cosplay frontier!)  Irvin got a corset, and used a hot glue gun to adorn it with black bows and the signature red A.

The corset ended up being quite comfortable (certainly far more comfortable than the ballet flats!).  One of the party games was "Pin the A on the Slut," where players were blindfolded and had to stick a red A on a poster of Olive - to Irvin's surprise, no one tried to stick it on him instead!  And in a fun teen movie crossover, Irvin and the Dancing Death Eaters performed "Jingle Bell Rock" from Mean Girls while in this outfit.
