Phonics
In Phonics this week, the children have been learning to read and spell words ending in -s and -es, exploring how these endings can make different sounds, such as /s/ and /z/. They practised reading longer words including sports, paints, storms, dresses and splashes, building their confidence in segmenting and blending. We also reviewed all Phase 3 graphemes and revisited any Phase 2 digraphs that needed further practice. The children consolidated their knowledge of 'igh' and 'ear' words and worked on reading and spelling tricky words including put, pull, full, push, my, by, like, some, come, love and do. We explored these sounds and words through a variety of engaging activities, including using magic pens, tracing letters and words in sand, and practising on whiteboards.

EAD and Maths
This week, the learners have been exploring some ocean-themed learning, the children created their own coral reefs using playdough, pasta, and their chosen sea animals.
Throughout the activity, they applied a range of mathematical skills, including counting, comparing quantities, and identifying and discussing different shapes.
The children demonstrated creativity and imagination while developing their fine motor skills through the manipulation of materials.
They also engaged in meaningful discussions about their creations, using mathematical language to explain their ideas and describe the features of their coral reefs.
This hands-on activity provided an excellent opportunity to combine expressive arts and design with early mathematical learning in a purposeful and engaging context.

Commotion in the Ocean
This week in Drawing Club, our learners explored the story Commotion in the Ocean. Each week they focus on the character, the setting, and responding to an imaginative "I wonder..." question inspired by the story. The children then brought their ideas to life by creating a sentence and a maths code.
As part of our Vocabulary Game, the children were introduced to six exciting new words such as 'sloshing', 'paddling' and 'bobbing' linked to the story and worked together to create actions to help them remember their meanings. This playful approach supported language development while making new vocabulary engaging and memorable!

World Cup Preparation
This week, our learners began preparing their classroom displays in readiness for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup next week. Each FS2 class has been assigned a country to explore, providing an exciting opportunity to learn about different cultures from around the world. The children have started discovering their country's flag, traditions, food, artwork, landmarks, and football kit.
Through this project, the learners are developing their understanding of the wider world, celebrating diversity, and embracing new cultures with curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm.
We hope you will enjoy getting involved in building excitement for this special event and sharing in the children's enthusiasm!

Wolverton and the HPL wolf-pack have been beautifully upcycled from our previous Nadeen uniform, with additions from our current one, symbolising our journey from one campus to another, and reflecting transformation, unity and growth.
A special thank you to Friend of Nadeen, Kirstin, for this wonderful creation.
Tickets can be purchased for BD1 from the Main Reception or Learner Entrance.
All funds raised will support our Hydroponics Initiative, enriching Food Technology and Biology lessons and helping our learners explore sustainability, gardening and plant science in purposeful, hands-on ways.

Arabic Digital Library
Arabic Digital Library
We are pleased to share the launch of The Arabic Stories Digital Library, an innovative initiative from our Arabic Department designed to strengthen our culture of reading and academic excellence.
The platform provides a carefully curated collection of Arabic stories tailored to learners’ varying interests and proficiency levels. Learners are encouraged to read at least one story per week and complete a structured reflection task to deepen comprehension, enhance written expression, and develop critical thinking skills.
The library will continue to expand through regular updates, ensuring fresh and engaging content. This initiative supports independent learning, advances language development, and reinforces cultural identity — all aligned with our strategic vision and High Performance Learning framework.

FS2 End of EYFS Celebration
FS2 End of EYFS Celebration
It is time to celebrate our FS2 children as they prepare to take their next exciting step into Primary School.
Join us as we reflect on their Early Years journey and celebrate all they have achieved throughout their time in FS2. The event will include songs, certificates and special farewell moments as we recognise their growth, achievements and memories made along the way.
This celebration marks the end of a wonderful chapter and the beginning of an exciting new adventure. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with you as we say farewell to Early Years and welcome our children into the next stage of their educational journey.

End of Term ECAs Update
End of Term ECAs Update
We would like to inform you that there will be no ECAs and Squads from next week until the end of the term.
As we look forward to our Primary learners showcasing their talents in their End of Year Performances throughout the week and with our secondary learners attending end of year trips at different times of the week, ECAs and Squads will not be taking place during this period.
Primary learners should be collected at 2 pm, unless they are participating in their End of Year Performance next week. If your child is waiting for a sibling in Secondary School, they will remain within their year group area until 2.15 pm, when they will be collected by their sibling or another family member. Secondary Learners will be dismissed at 2:15 pm each day.
If your child is registered in an external ECA, please note that the external provider will communicate the last day with parents as per their termly schedule.
Please note that school buses will operate at 2.15 pm for all learners from next week onwards.

Martial Arts Summer Camp
Our Martial Arts Summer Camp is a great opportunity for your child to experience self-defence techniques and real-life scenarios, and learn how Boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu can help them deal with those scenarios as well as boost their discipline, self-control, self confidence.

Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor.
