This week, our learners have been using their detailed plans to create their very own mystery diaries. Each student produced a three-paragraph diary entry, carefully applying their writer’s toolkit of prepositions, adverbs, and rhetorical questions to build suspense and engage the reader. We are incredibly proud of the effort and creativity they have shown, these diaries are a testament to their hard work and growing confidence as writers.

This week we began our multiplication and division unit. We explored equal groups, built arrays, and practised the 3 and 5 times tables. The learners worked confidently using repeated addition and matching multiplication sentences. A great start to our new topic!
We continued with our movement topic this week and focused on how muscles work in pairs to help the body. We added some elastic bands to our hinge joints to show how biceps and triceps work in tandem to make our arm move. It is important that we remember our skeleton, joints and muscles all work together to help our body move!
This week, Year 3 explored the exciting discovery of King Tutankhamun, learning why his tomb is one of the most famous finds in history. Learners also got a glimpse of what life was like in Ancient Egypt, discovering how people lived and worked. It has been a fascinating week full of curiosity and great discussions!

Well done to our Year 3 Wolves of the Week.
We are delighted to share our Home Learning Choice Board for this half term. This is an optional activity board for your child to complete. There are nine practical and engaging activities to choose from, please select up to three.
You can share your child’s completed activities with your class teacher, they will provide brief feedback to your child in class time.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to speak to your class teacher or Year Leader.
Year 3 Learners enjoyed the story of Ours Brun and they did a super job of guessing what combination of animal and colour would appear on the next page. They then did some excellent work choosing their own characters, taking care to make sure the adjective followed the noun.
Next week will be our last session of the unit with a Christmas-based lesson in the final week of term.
In Year 3, learners have been learning to identify different Gamelan instruments and match them to their descriptions. They listened carefully to the sounds each instrument makes and discussed how they are played, such as striking, hitting, or gently tapping. Using pictures and sound clips, the class explored instruments like the gong, kendang drum, and metallophones, noticing how each one has its own unique tone and role in an ensemble. Learners then worked in small groups to match the instrument names with written descriptions, developing both their listening skills and their understanding of traditional Indonesian music.
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.

Christmas with a Pawfect Purpose.
In the spirit of Nadeen’s core values of love, care, and community, we are excited to introduce “Christmas with a Pawfect Purpose.” This special initiative gives our community an opportunity to spread kindness during the festive season by supporting our animal friends in need.
In collaboration with Bahrain Rescues we will be setting up a Christmas tree in the learner entrance decorated with wish-list tags. Each tag will include an item or small contribution that families may choose to provide. Children are welcome to pick a tag from the tree and bring in the corresponding item.
Our Wishlist (all items valued at 5 BD or less):
A bag of cat litter
A bag of cat or dog food
A cosy winter blanket for the dogs
Cleaning supplies
Apples or carrots for Bahrain Rescues’ resident donkey, Dolly
Thank you for helping us make this festive season extra meaningful through small acts of compassion that make a big difference. Your support truly embodies the kindness at the heart of our school community.
Winter Shoebox Appeal
Nadeen School is once again supporting the Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS) Winter Shoebox Appeal. This annual initiative takes place in November, as we approach the winter season, and aims to collect essential items for vulnerable members of our community.
We invite your child to participate by helping to pack a decorated shoebox or backpack with much-needed items. The children will box these up at home and bring them into school.
Please see the attached flyer for general information. We are asking for donations of toiletries (such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and shampoo) and dry foods, including lentils, rice, dried milk powder, and spices.
We will be collecting donations from next week in the Learner entrance and our contributions will be handed over to the MWPS later on.
Every donation makes a difference, and your support for this important cause is deeply appreciated.
