Community Updates & Key Dates

Sunday, 1 March - World Book Week

Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity and community. Through the A Box of Goodness initiative, we will be collecting non-perishable food items throughout Ramadan to support families in need. Last year, we donated 70 food boxes, with your support, let’s give even more this year.

Phonics

This week, the learners revised all of their Phase 3 sounds and confidently applied their phonics knowledge in their writing.

They created their own posters about their countries, writing facts about animals, traditional foods and famous landmarks.

Throughout International Week, the children celebrated learning about one another through reading, writing and speaking, building both their knowledge and confidence.

Exploring Length and Height

This week, our learners have been exploring the Mathematical concepts of length and height. They have been measuring different objects using different measuring tools. They used vocabulary such as long, short, tallest, shortest.

Teamwork and Perseverance

The learners have been exploring space-themed puzzles this week!

The children showed wonderful perseverance, learning to keep trying even when the pieces didn’t fit straight away and showing patience when some pieces were missing!

International Week

This week, our learners have been exploring the world and all the amazing things that make each country unique in their own special way. Each class explored a specific country and took part in activities, preparing for our International Day party on Thursday!!

This Saturday, The Factory Run, 14 February

We’re pleased to share that The Factory Run – Family Relay will take place on 14th February 2026 at Exhibition World Bahrain. It promises to be a wonderful celebration of family, teamwork and wellbeing.

If you’re taking part, we look forward to seeing some Nadeen families there and cheering you on!

The Bahrain Eco Summit

On Wednesday, Nadeen proudly hosted the 2026 Bahrain Eco-Summit as part of the growing collaboration established by the Bahrain Sustainable Schools Partnership (BSSP).

We were honoured to welcome 14 schools and over 100 learners to our campus, coming together to share ideas, collaborate and explore meaningful approaches to sustainability.

Founded in 2023, the Eco-Summit has quickly become a key event in Bahrain’s school calendar, uniting schools, sustainability partners and local organisations with a shared purpose: strengthening environmental education and empowering young people to lead positive change.

Through learner-led presentations, hands-on workshops and collaborative discussions, the Summit provided a powerful reminder that real progress happens when communities work together.

By hosting this year’s event, Nadeen reaffirms its commitment to nurturing environmentally responsible learners and supporting partnerships that help build a more sustainable future for Bahrain.

TeachMeet 5: The AI Edition

On Monday, we were delighted to host TeachMeet 5: The AI Edition, bringing educators together to explore the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education.

Led by AI Transformation Leader Luis I. Cortes, the session considered AI within both a global and regional context, while keeping a clear focus on what matters most, ensuring technology enhances learning without replacing the human relationships, judgement and care that define great education.

The event reflects our ongoing commitment to thoughtful innovation and our High Performance Learning approach, preparing learners to be adaptable, reflective and confident in a rapidly changing world.

Arabic Digital Library

We are pleased to share the launch of The Arabic Stories Digital Library, an innovative initiative from our Arabic Department designed to strengthen our culture of reading and academic excellence.

The platform provides a carefully curated collection of Arabic stories tailored to learners’ varying interests and proficiency levels. Learners are encouraged to read at least one story per week and complete a structured reflection task to deepen comprehension, enhance written expression, and develop critical thinking skills.

The library will continue to expand through regular updates, ensuring fresh and engaging content. This initiative supports independent learning, advances language development, and reinforces cultural identity — all aligned with our strategic vision and High Performance Learning framework.

Term 2 Swimming 💦

We are excited to introduce swimming in Term 2 for our FS2 learners! We will begin the first week back in January, to prepare, please ensure you have the following for their first lesson. All items should be named, and your child should be able to support themselves with dressing independently, the holiday is a great time to practice if they are not yet confident.

Your child will need for their swimming lesson:

Waterproof bag (bag which your child should be able to carry and wear independently)
Towel (poncho style)
Goggles
Swim Hat
Pool Shoes (secure flip flops, crocs, water shoes, etc.)

Let Us Know If Your Child Is Absent – New Email!

We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.

Canteen Acess for Primary Learners

We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.

Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.

If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.

Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.

We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
