This week, learners explored Writer’s Knowledge by identifying key language features and text structure within an information text. They examined how writers use tools such as technical vocabulary, subheadings, measurements, and alternative nouns to organise information clearly and engage the reader. Through hands-on activities and text analysis, learners are developing a strong understanding of how effective information reports are constructed.
Spellings
This week we are looking at more spellings from the Year 3 and 4 Statutory Spelling list. Please help the learners practise these at home.

This week, learners have been continuing with their learning in estimating answers. They have been reinforcing their understanding from the addition and subtraction unit by using formal methods for both operations. Additionally, they have expanded their learning by tackling problem-solving and reasoning questions.
This week in Science, Year 4 have been developing their practical investigation skills. The children learned how to use thermometers, stopwatches, and beakers safely and accurately. They practised measuring the temperature of hot and cold water, comparing their results and discussing why the temperatures change.
They also used stopwatches to time their friends completing fun challenges, such as writing the alphabet and writing their names backwards. The learners loved testing their reaction times and seeing how their results differed.
Enquiry Learning
This week in our Stone Age topic, the learners explored how early humans lived by creating their own Stone Age round houses. After learning about the features of these homes through an interactive slide activity, the class worked together to design and build their models. They showed excellent curiosity and creativity, using natural tones, textures, and materials to represent how early humans sheltered, cooked, and lived. It was a hands-on, imaginative week that brought the Stone Age to life in our classroom.

A very good week for our Year 4 learners who played a range of games to state which school subjects they liked and which they didn't. Our focus was on oral practice and it's great to see how confidence is growing when it comes to speaking French in front of the class.
Next week, we will be doing some listening activities and answering questions on what we have heard.
We are pleased to inform you that a dedicated email address has now been created for reporting learner absences. Please use attendance@nadeenschool.com to notify the school if your child will be absent on the day. All of the absence correspondence should as always go through the form tutor. This will help us ensure accurate attendance records and streamline communication. Thank you for your cooperation.
