Up and Coming Dates:
Saturday, 8th November Family Fun Run
Monday, 10th November Odd Socks Day
Tuesday, 11th November Remembrance Day
This week, our FS1 children explored pumpkins through a range of creative and sensory activities. At the start of the week, the children enjoyed painting a pumpkin, carefully choosing colours and using brushes to decorate the surface. We talked about the shapes and patterns they were making and shared ideas with one another. Later in the week, the children took part in scooping out the inside of the pumpkin. They showed curiosity as they examined the seeds and the stringy texture inside. Some children used spoons carefully to scoop, while others preferred to use their hands.
Our FS1 learners have been exploring a new phoneme this week "S". We introducted the phoneme using a phonics game called "What's in the Box?" and the learners have to guess an object with an initial sound corresponding to the phoneme /s/. Throughout the week, the learners explored various objects corresponding to the phoneme, and were engaging in activities that supported in making the grapheme "s"such as tracing it in salt.
It was an exciting week outdoors for the FS1 learners as we had many outdoor ride-on vehicle additions such as balancing bikes, pedal bikes, and taxi trikes. It supported the learners' physical development by building balance, coordination and strength, while encouraging spatial awareness and confidence in movement.
We have been getting into the Halloween spirit with some spooky fun and fine motor play! The children loved exploring the lentil and rice sensory trays, scooping, pouring, and sifting through the materials. We even incorporated creepy crawly spiders, googly eyes, and other spooky treasures to spark their curiosity and imagination!
We are excited to have FS1 start their PE sessions, next week. This week, the PE teachers have come down to introduce themselves to the children. Please ensure your child is wearing their PE uniform and appropriate footwear on the allocated day below.

Nadeen School Annual Festive Fair
We are delighted to let you know that we are hosting this event again on Friday November 28th from 11am-4pm at Dilmunia, the home of our brand new, state-of-the-art campus.
On this day children, parents, staff and friends will come to our fair for a fun family day. We have games and prizes for the children, independent vendors offering various products for sale, food stalls, and a raffle. Last year we had over 2000 visitors to our Fair and it was an incredibly well-attended, well-enjoyed event; we are expecting even more visitors this year!
One of our largest fundraisers during the year is our Festive Fair Raffle. If you or your company could donate a raffle prize, such as a voucher, gift, gift certificate or hamper, it would be greatly appreciated by Nadeen School children, parents and staff. Should you be interested in sponsoring our event, please let us know by emailing v.trindade@nadeenschool.com and ks1-parentboard@nadeenschool.com
We will begin phasing the purchasing of food from the canteen into Primary from Wednesday, 14th October, starting with Year 6 learners. To support the smooth operation of this process, learner cards will be kept in school and given to students at lunchtime to make purchases.
Please note: learners can only purchase food if they have a card.
If you would like your child to buy lunch from the canteen, you will need to purchase a learner card. Instructions for how to purchase the card can be found spare APP.
Please ensure there is sufficient money loaded onto the card to allow your child to buy food. You can use the SPARE app to top up the card, view what your child has eaten, and purchase meals in advance.
We are aiming to introduce this system to Year 4 and Year 5 learners after the half-term break. We need this time to carefully organise the process so that we can maximise efficiency and ensure a smooth experience for all learners.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this introductory phase.
In case of any questions, please contact directly support@paywithspare.com
